Prior to the introduction of 3D dental imaging, clinical professionals had to rely solely on a two dimensional panoramic x-ray, along with personal experience to determine what size and type of implant could be placed. Conebeam 3D imaging allows us now to have a clear view of the patient's dental anatomy in three dimensions. This information can be used to allow surgery that is now minimally invasive and more predictable.
Our in-house imaging techniques are easily accepted by patients as they sit in a chair while a scanner sends a cone shaped beam of x-rays around the patients’ oral cavity. The process takes less than a minute. The three dimensional image are immediately stored on a computer, viewed by clinical professionals, and used to help plan the surgical phase of implant therapy. Images are available in a matter of seconds which allows for treatment to begin right away if desired.

Occlusal Analysis with Bite Force Measurement & Timing
For years, dental occlusal analysis has been largely a matter of guesswork for dentists. Articulation paper, waxes, pressure indicator paste, etc. were all dentists had to assess the occlusal forces (balance of a patients bite). Most of these methods are not sensitive enough to detect simultaneous contact, and none measure both biting time and force. Tekscan met the challenge by developing the T-Scan® system.
The T-Scan system is a valuable tool that aids in the diagnostic process of analyzing a patient's bite to show what is and what is not functioning properly. When a bite is unstable it can cause pain, broken restorations, gum disease, tooth loss, headaches and TMJ disorder.
T-Scan 'Best of Class' Technology Award
In June 2010, T-Scan III Computerized Occlusal Analysis system was selected for the “Best of Class” Technology Award in the Diagnostic category by the Pride Institute and its Panel of Technology Experts.
Here at the TeethToday Dental Implant Center, we use the T-Scan system to improve the overall success of your implant therapy.

Probe chart, educate, and motivate – all from one computer
The Florida Probe digital periodontal check-up system is the latest technology in gum disease detection and prevention. This system includes hardware and software designed to accurately diagnose, chart, and track the progression of gum disease. The hardware is a gentle probing device that we’ll use to examine your gums. The probe sends a digital signal directly to our chairside monitor, and together we can view problem areas and discuss treatment options, and beyond.
The Florida Probe software will digitally chart your teeth and gums, show you your customized risk factors (smoking, age, hygiene), and track your progress over time. We use the comprehensive charts for choosing the right treatment option and for patient education. In addition, Florida Probe technology includes educational videos that explain potential periodontal disease in a way that’s easy to understand.
Gum disease is a serious health threat that has been linked to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, and low birth weight. With the Florida Probe, we can detect early warning signs of gum disease, then take measures to prevent serious damage. We are proud to offer this exciting innovative technology to all of our patients, because healthy gums are essential to your overall health, appearance and well being.
We can turn any treatment room PC into a computerized periodontal probing and charting station, and instantly provide an interactive exam that explains potential periodontal therapy. Constant pressure, automated, "talking" probe records all parameters of a periodontal exam, including pocket depth, to the nearest 0.2 mm.
The software automatically tracks good and bad changes over time and creates a printable periodontal chart that visually illustrates these changes to enhance patient understanding. We offer this to you to save time, money and improve accuracy, creating a "treatment map" for scaling and root planning.

Digital x-rays with increased patient comfort
With ever increasing competition, today's dental practices have to either move forward with new technology or risk being left behind.
One such technology we employ is the use of Schick CDR (computerized digital radiograph) digital x-ray technology, which is a proven aide in providing sharp, clear images right on our computer screens in real time, and requiring just a fraction of the radiation of traditional film x-rays. Here, we can explain our diagnosis and show potential problems without ever leaving your side. This makes it much easier for you to help make an informed decision regarding recommended treatment options.
Plus, this allows us to say good-bye to expensive film, toxic chemicals, and time-consuming processing.
The sophisticated software is easy to use – we simply point, click, and start diagnosing. And since Schick CDR software is completely compatible with our other practice management software, it allows for incredible sensor technology quickly, easily, and painlessly.

The number one soft-tissue diode laser in the world
Laser dentistry has rapidly emerged as a new level of quality care for our patients. For certain procedures, the features of laser dentistry give us the ability to perform more procedures in less time without sacrificing patient care and comfort. A wide range of dental procedures benefit from laser treatment. For instance, lasers can be used around metal crowns, on patients with pacemakers and braces, on teeth with metal amalgams, and in procedures involving bone structure all with positive effects. Patients report that laser treatments are gentle and result in little or no recession, swelling, less necrosis, and a quicker post-op healing process. Additionally, laser surgery is substantially less invasive therefore generates less bleeding during the procedure. Lasers are predictable, precise and produce a reduction in the need for suturing.
In certain situations, we find that laser dentistry is rapidly becoming the 21st century replacement for the scalpel. It enables us to manage soft tissue procedures in a clinically effective manner producing results which are generally more predictable reducing patient post-op pain and discomfort. In addition, laser dentistry enables us to administer fewer local anesthesias which are better all around for both dentist and patient. Lasers can be used effectively and efficiently on various soft tissue procedures including gingival troughing, gingivectomies, uncovering implants, for decontamination and desensitizing procedures.

Miniaturized digital video technology to treat areas below the gum line without the discomfort or inconvenience of surgery
The Perioscope is a dental endoscope used to perform minimally invasive non-surgical periodontal diagnosis and treatment. A miniature camera is attached to a tiny probe that is gently placed just below the gum line. The images are displayed on a monitor at 48X magnification, disclosing otherwise undetectable minute details. For treatment, the endoscope is used in conjunction with micro ultrasonics for pocket debridement, eliminating the need for surgical procedures in many cases. In addition, perioscopy therapy can be used to help determine the cause of undisclosed pain due to root fractures, subgingival caries (tooth and root cavities), root resorption, post perforations, even extruded gutta percha, a root canal filling material.
If you have one or more pockets of 4mm deep, as well as other suspected dental conditions, then you may be a candidate for perioscopy. If you are being treated for periodontal disease, the goal of this treatment is to get a tooth root exceptionally clean so that the gums and other surrounding tissues can become healthier. Perioscopy is especially effective in the "esthetic zone", or the teeth you see when you smile.
